Limerick Regatta & Schools Regatta

Limerick Regatta and the Schools Regatta are approaching fast, April 28 & 29. SMRC is very well represented on the water again this year, but also on dry land. If you are in a position to volunteer for marshaling traffic, catering, any other duties, we'd really like to hear from you straight away.

Please contact Captain Richie.
All help is needed and appreciated, thank you.

Aine McInerney R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Áine McInerney. Her sons Pat (Pa Mac) and Brian are stalwarts of SMRC for a long time. We send them all our sympathies and warm wishes. May she rest in peace.

This is the first use of a live, online results system in Ireland for rowing and it marks a great move forward from the days of having to wait for hours or even til the next day for accurate results, with timing to 1/10th of a second, and also average calculated boat speed.

Best of luck to all our SMRC crews, and don't forget the 'after party' in Cobblestone Joe's, Ellen St., with Brian O'Connor - gig starts at 7pm. Admission is free and open to all.

Latest HoR info

It's all systems go for Saturday's Head in Limerick. Everything is booked, the course is mapped and we've a great entry - thanks to all the travelling clubs for entering. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for latest updates. Best viewing position for the finish will be at Steamboat Quay.

Go to the Head of the River page for more information.

2018 Head of the River update

Our annual Head of the River is moving into Limerick City this year because of flooding at O'Briensbridge. This is a great opportunity for a spectator event and the tides are perfect for it too. Happy days. All entry and prospectus details are posted on the Rowing Ireland website.

Additionally, we're having a get together and gig at Cobblestone Joe's in Ellen St. that evening. Brian O'Connor, a former member of SMRC, is flying in from Sweden just for us! Please come down for Ireland's best pizza and some great music. Admission is free and open to everyone. Please bring a friend. Time TBC.
