Adult New Members
If you are over 18 and would to learn to row, train a little bit and get out in the fresh air and on the river this is the group for you!.
The only pre-requisite is that you can swim 50 meters and you follow the rules. The Recs group has over 20 members and gets on the river weekly when weather and tides permit. The Group is well balanced, with men and women off all ages. Ex Rowers or total newbies are welcome.
We have access to quads, doubles and singles. The opportunity is there to advance yourself technically and be rowing in a single scull within 12 months of joining should you want to. Alternatively lots of the Recs are happy to stay in the quads and just enjoy the river. We try and compete, (with a very small “c”) a few times a year in regattas around the country. Most of our rowing takes place in O’Callaghan Strand and occasionally in O’Briens Bridge.
Off the water activities include training in the club for those who want to.
To start, you just need regular training clothes and a positive attitude.
