SMRC Head of the River 2022
St. Michael’s brings rowing racing back into the city with our 5.5km time trial event on the river Shannon. Crews will launch from our city centre boathouse & row down river approx 6km. They are held in position and let off at 40 second intervals. Racing towards the city, they chase down crews in search of the best time over the 5.5 course. Perfect viewing of the race can be found at Barrington’s Pier, Steamboat Quay, Shannon Bridge & Bishops Quay for the finish line. Pop along to the club for a coffee and a bit of milis before cheering on the crews. Traffic management will be in place on O’Callaghan Strand and we would ask drivers, cyclists and walkers to be cautious on the road and paths due to the event taking place.
Details are online on Rowing Ireland website.
