The club members & supporters will Row, Run, Cycle, Hike & Walk as many kilometres as possible over the weekend of January 6th to 8th, aiming for 2,600 km, which is the official distance of Ireland’s beautiful Wild Atlantic Way.

Funds raised in the ROWathon will be used for the club’s boat & equipment purchase fund & will be part of our investment in the club’s crews for years to come. We are aiming to replace some of the boats which were purchased over 25 years ago!

The club will also be partnering with Limerick Suicide Watch with 30% of funds raised being donated to the local charity. St. Michael’s and LSW have had a long & successful partnership dating back to the club’s Urban Run and we are delighted to be able to help the charity again through this event.

The kilometre collection kicks off at 7am Friday, January 6th with the monthly Moore Limerick 5km Run from the rowing club. The running crew will be the first to submit their kms to get us underway.

St. Michael’s Squads will be rowing from 9 am on Saturday, January 7th in the clubhouse with each Squad taking on a 2-hour slot on the ergometer rowing machines & crews will take to the water on Sunday to continue the Rowathon.

We will also have the SMRCExiles all over the world taking part including New York and Sydney. Members of the public can also get involved by submitting their Row, Run, Cycle, Hike & Walk kms to help us on our way as we virtually travel from Derry to Kerry over the 2,600 distance of The Wild Atlantic Way.
