SMRC Head of the River – Feb 10th

Dear members, parents and friends of St Michaels,
On Feb 10th we are running our next Head of the River in O’Brien’s Bridge. The club is now running two “heads” per season, the October event with a focus on juniors and masters, and the February event with a focus on more championship crews (division 1 and 2). These events are extremely important fundraisers for the club to pay for our running costs and our on going investment in rowing equipment.

For the event in October had about 70 volunteers from members and parents which was amazing. This event is no different, we need your help!
The main areas where we need volunteers are as follows:

* Safety launch – we plan to have 8 launches on the water, 2 people per launch, 2 shifts in the day. That’s already 32 people!
* Slip marshals
* Traffic and Parking marshals
* Catering – in October we had a bbq as well as soups, snacks, teas and coffees. It was a huge success and again we are looking for someone to manage this important part of the event.

So please save the date and reach out to Brian McInerney or Kevin O’Connor with preference for type of job and whether morning or afternoon shift works best (or the full day).
Looking forward to seeing you all in the Bridge on Feb 10th.

Brian McInerney & Kevin O’Connor on behalf of SMRC.
